... I can show you the cover to NOBLE CAUSES #32, as drawn by Yildiray Cinar and colored by Ron Riley:
NC #32 will be coming out in early 2008, whereupon the book will be back on track, schedule-wise, and completely revamped (as the cover may indicate).

| Wow! That looks cool. Even though I can only identify half the people. There's Doc, Frost, Slate, and Zephyr? .... looks awesome. Is it possible to love and hate something at the same time. I love NC, but I hate to wait for it. But you guys have never disappointed with the book ever. So wait I shall. At least I get to have my montly D5 goodness. |

That's Celeste flying in the background, too. But it's hard to make her out in that image, since she's so small.
We know it's a long wait, and we're not happy about it either. But we'd rather solicit the book and stick to our schedule from there on out, as opposed to rushing out issue #32 and then falling behind right afterwards.

That... looks... AWESOME!
This is the first (and only at this time) reason I'm waiting for 2008 to come. |

I wasn't bagging on the delay. Even though I don't like it. Noble Causes has been one of those books that I have read an really enjoy no matter the schedule. You guys do such a good job on it that it's worth it to wait. I'm really looking forward to the continueing adventures of the Noble family. |

The ROCK! Has come back to...
OK, all kidding aside, this cover looks real sharp. The wait is a downer, though worth it. I'd much rather have a book worth waiting for, then a rush job I'd have to kick to the curb.
You keep 'em coming, I'll keep parting with my clam$. |

I explained "the hold up" like, twice, in this very thread. We're getting some issues in the can so we don't get caught behind again. And 2008 really isn't that far away. If we turned in our solicitations for the book TODAY, it still wouldn't be solicited until 2008.
Solicits are made in advance, and more often than not, books are solicited before they're done -- heck, before they're even drawn, or sometimes even written. Notice how sometimes Marvel solicits will say "Artist TBD"? That means they're soliciting a book before they even know who's gonna draw it!
When we launched Dynamo 5, we had the first issue completely done -- colored, lettered, everything -- before we even turned in our solicitation materials. This allowed us to send the completed first issue out to reviewers and retailers, and they could see the book before placing their orders for it. I think this played a huge role in the book's success.
We're treating NC #32 like a new #1 -- it's a new beginning, in a lot of ways -- so I want to be able to have #32 completely done before orders are due, so retailers and reviewers can sample it before they place their order.
Dynamo 5 has a much higher readership than NC, and that needs to change. We need to give all those D5 readers a reason to pick up NC, so it's gonna take some work.
Trust me -- none of us like taking this long off, but it's better in the long run.

I'm guessing when NC comes back, there'll be less emphasis on the soap opera elements.
Doc and Frost on the same page...has hell officially frozen over? |

ok I didn't catch the first time you said it, but thanks for the explaination. I'm happy for you and you team on the success for Dynamo 5. I love the book. If you have plans to sell at a later time, and have Noble Causes to make more sales , and appeal to more readers that is good idea too. I love both books and wish you luck on the moves you guys make. I will be in your corner |

Which makes me wonder, why wouldn't you go and make it the number one of a new volume? With the foreshadowing of "big announcements" and all, i assumed that was going to be the case.
Was it because it is a lame trick? Well, Marvel does it every now and than with lesser selling titles, and it seems like it kinda works too.. |

We discussed that option, but ultimately decided against it. It's sort of rare for a book not published by Marvel or DC to make it to issue #32. I'm proud of the fact that we've lasted this long, and frankly, if I had a chance to do things over again, I never would've gone the series-of-mini-series route in the first place. It makes it really hard for new readers who want to collect the original comics (as opposed to the trades) to figure out what order to read the books in.

That i agree..
Never the less, there could be the option to go with a double numbering, but well.. maybe that could be a little stretching.. i dunno.. |

Yeah, I think the whole dual-numbering thing is equally confusing, and kinda silly, too.
Believe me, we'll be beating people over the head with the fact that #32 is a great place to start, and regular readers will be just as "lost" as new readers. Everyone will be on the same page.
