FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AFTER THE CAPE
Shadowline Presents a Hero's Fall from Grace

How far can even a superhero fall?

Ethan Falls was the man who had everything: family, fame, success and super powers. More than just a costume, his cape was a proud symbol of everything he had become. Now, a crippling addiction has taken that and everything else away from him and he's spiraling out of control, towards a life of crime. Shadowline proudly presents Howard Wong and Marco Rudy's gripping tale of addiction and temptation in AFTER THE CAPE, a three-issue miniseries debuting this March from Image Comics.

"AFTER THE CAPE is a very personal story about the cost of success," explains writer Howard Wong. "Ethan Falls is faced with the temptations of taking the wrong road, and Marco and I are enjoying using the superhero tradition to tell a story about the harsh consequences we all could face, and how one man, who should be impervious to such dangers, succumbs to them."

"Marco's art is simply amazing," says Shadowline's Jim Valentino. "His high contrast film noir style is infused with painstakingly observed realism. There's an underlying optimism and sincerity to Marco's work. The artwork hits you right in the gut with the tragedy that Ethan's life has become."

A powerful mix of superhero action and real world drama, AFTER THE CAPE delivers an arresting vision of an extraordinary man pushed to the breaking point.

AFTER THE CAPE #1 (of 3) carries a cover price of $2.99 ships March 14 and is available through Diamond Previews (JAN071921).

Nice art.
But sometimes its hard to see what happends, for example in that page, where it looks like he drops his pants.

The plot for the book reminds me of a plot i have been working on myself, about a hero who also has begin drinking. There are still some things, that are diffrent.

Looks amazing. Just wondering, why is this is coming out from Shadowline?

Thanks for the preview. I'll be honest and say I'm usually not much for black-and-white comics, but the art here is very cool. I'll definitely be putting this one on my list. Smile

Not sure I understand the question or the validity of same.

How about because it was pitched to Shadowline?

Or Why not?

Good to see it on bigger pages since the PREVIEWS small pages wasn't detailed enough.

Hope you all like what we have in store for you. Marco doesn't ink his work, but scans his detailed pencils and darkens them in Photoshop. At least that what I think he does. Wink

Ha! I remember that book. The detail was retarded! Whatever happened to Dick Bennett, anyways?

Great art, and I look forward to see how Ethan Falls into a life he never wanted. The cool deal here is that this could be a tragedy, or triumph. Ethan straightens out his life, or sets an example as a cautionary warning.

Big props to the team!

And YES, Shadowline is publishing this - why not?

But we need to pimp this book, people!
