Hi all, I'm posting this here because I know Erik is a Trimpe fan. Wink

This month is the 8th Anniversary of CollectorTimes.com.

For this special occasion we give you two interviews.

The first with Herb Trimpe, best known for his 8 year run on the Hulk and drawing the first appearance of Wolverine. In the interview, we talk about everything but the Hulk. What we do talk about is Wolverine's popularity, him helping Stan Lee with his public speaking engagements, I ask him about Stan taking credit for Marvel's success at the time and how Kirby/Ditko felt slighted, his writing work, Marvel/Stan's reaction to his New York Times peice on Marvel firing him and his journey to becoming an art teacher, his 9/11 chaplain work, and conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attack. Among other things.

The 2nd interview is with Svetlana Chmakova. She's the creator of Dramacon, a highly praised OEL manga from TokyoPop. I ask her about her path to becoming a pro, how traditional manga fans are reacting to her OEL work, the possibility of her doing traditional North American work, and more.

Thanks for the link, Jamie.

I think Herb Trimpe was an extremely underrated artist. In one sense it's a shame he was hammered into the Kirby style so early at Marvel, because the few times I've seen him stretch himself a bit, he did some really evocative work...

Yes and as of late he's shown some writing chops as well.

It's a crying shame he never wrote & drew his own work. I think he had the potential to be another Will Eisner or Joe Kubert.
