Weird, because I got the first wolf-man issue here in Belgium and Belgium and the UK are both in Europe. |

Yeah, just looked into it today. To my surprise, there are few shops scatered about the country who are doing it!
But the rest of the shops are too damn tight...!!
I'm moving to Belgium... see you soon! |

I love the art of the book but in order to let you know what I think of the series I will need a little bit more than one comic. What I can say is that from what I've read I've definitely be getting issue #2. Seems like it could be amazing. Can't wait to see how "dark" this series can get since I heard it was a combination between the Invincible and Walking Dead atmospheres |

Kirkman, you mad genius you, you've done it again! I just finished Wolfman, and love it....I guess you'll be getting a few more bucks outta me a month now.....I like the story, and really like the idea of Gary getting a wolf-mentor.....I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with this one....oh, yeah, and the art totally rocks too! Jasons style just works with this story.
Thanks for the free book- Richard |

It was alright. I will check out a few more issues but it was just alright.
Solid opening and the mix of superheroics and classic monster movie horror, however, is a genius idea worthy of buying at least the next 5 issues. |

oh and i'm also really excited about this series!
Great art and great potential! The character is well designed and those rooftop scenes have so much energy to them.
i just hope its' scope isn't limited only to horror- it'd be fun to see him at odds with other superheroes who were unsure of his loyalties. |

| I enjoyed the first FREE issue very much and I would have enjoyed it equally as much if I had paid for it. It was a good first issue and a nice little introduction to the series. I'm definitely excited to see where this story is going to take us in the following months. I have a feeling it's going to kick a LOT OF ASS. |

The art is interesting, but I'm not really feeling the comic as a whole. It was too much of a setup comic, with what seemed like really forced character development. I'm sorry to say that I winced on every bolded work, because it just felt like the comic was feeding me endless sound-bytes. If I see the second issue in-shop I'll buy it, to see if it gets better, but this issue didn't hook me.
It was a smart marketing idea to offer it on free comic book day though. Wolfman was so much better than the offerings of Marvel or DC, which released hackneyed comics which were badly written and tried to somehow fill "new" readers in while just reusing old plots. The DC comic was the worst because it was hardly readable, in that they kept switching artists and the narrative didn't make any sense.
The new Brit series looks AWESOME though. I love the look of the art. |

I hate to say it, but I'm also not sold on the book, yet.
Personally, I've never been a big fan of the more, what's the word, "supernatural" books. Kinda ill-defined in my head. But, you know, I am still interested to see where this goes.
On a slightly related note, I bought my first The Walking Dead (the first trade) yesterday, too (I was in my LCS with money and everything else in my hand was free, so I felt I had to pay for something). I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought.
On a slightly more related note, i've been thinking about Kirkman's storytelling style a lot, but that's another topic.
Oh, yeah, AWM was a helluva lot better than the ASM. |

Not Wolf-Man related but while we're talking about FCBD... did anyone read 'Last Blood'??? It was one of the free comics from yesterday and it's a zombie book. The deal is the world is overcome with zombies and there are two vampires protecting this specific SMALL group of people, in order to still have a source of food... which of course would be the human's blood. So they made a deal with this group of humans in which the humans would give them small amounts of blood when they need it and the vampires would keep them alive (they offered food, water, weapons, etc.) and protect them from the zombie hordes. Supposedly there are only "hundreds" of people alive on earth and a few vampires have been assigned to each small group of humans scattered throughout the world, in order to keep there food source thriving.
It's a pretty interesting twist on the whole "Zombie" idea and I think some people here would enjoy it. I'm not trying to promote someone else's book in Robert's forum or anything, but I just thought I would let people know about this "low profile" indie comic book... plus it was free. |
