WARM UP SKETCH - FASTBALL!

I don't know about the rest of you ladies but I don't jump straight into work. I usually doodle around first before I start drawing.

I like to loosen up so to speak before I start my real work. Here's a example of my warm-up exercise that I did before I started working on Liberty Meadows #37 last night.

Yes, I'm a huge Wolverine (Brown and tan costume, thank you) fan since 5th grade.

Enjoy.

Invincible inks

Cliff Rathburn is handling inks for a few issues, I am SO fricken happy to have him on board. Cliff is an amazing artist, one of my favorites. If you havn't seen Reaper and Brit3 you really should check them out, his pencils are just cool, and of course his inks are perty.
Here is a couple pages from issue 28 coming out next week. You can see how much he adds to my pencils, them clouds for example, totally cool I think.

TEASER!! Juan's new book!

This is the Previews cover for May product. It's Juan Ferreyra's new book from Shadowline!

Here's a concept sketch:

Justin webpage is live - AGAIN!

Okay, I had posted this a day ago, but then it got knocked down about 10 pages so that everyone could see the lyrics to a popular SNL skit turned into a song about collecting Shadowline books. Thanks for that, guys!

So....ANY-way, I made a new website for the Justin book. It's got a a lot of info about the book, characters, some behind the scenes artwork and you can even play the official "Truth, Justin and the American Way" TV show theme song.

Be sure to take a tour of Giuseppe's studio in Italy. It's cool stuff.

Check it out!

Lazy Sunday Lyrics (from Shadowline Comics)

By Jimmie Robinson (Bomb Queen)

Wake up in the late afternoon
Call up Simon to see how she's doin'

Hello?

What up, Kris?

Yo Valentino! What's crackin'?
You thinkin' what I'm Thinkin'?
Shadowline!
Man it's happenin'!

But first my hunger pains
Are stickin' like duct tape!
Let's hit up Image forums for
That Bomb Queen cheesecake!

No doubt those comics got all the mad drawings!
I love those Image comics like McAdams loves Gosselings

2! No, 6! No, 12!
RUNES OF RAGNAN!
I told you that I'm crazy for those Image comics, cousin!

Yo, where's the convention playin'?
Upper west side, dude!

Well let's hit up Yahoo maps to find the dopest route!
I prefer MapQuest.
That's a good one, too.
Google maps is the best!

True dat.
DOUBLE TRUE!

68th and Broadway!
Step on it sucka!
Whatchu wanna do Kris?

IMAGE ATTACK
Mother Fucker!

Pass that Comic-WHAT? Fans of Mania

Yo! Stop at the store
Convention's over-priced
You got the backpack, Kris?
Gonna pack it up NICE!

Don't want security to get suspicious
Intimidators + Bomb Queen = CRAZY DELICIOUS!

Reach in my pocket pull out some dough
Girl acted like she never saw a 10 befo'
It's all about the Hamiltons, baby.
Throw the comics in the bag and I'm ghost like Swayze!

Roll up to the convention
Badge buyin' what we're handlin'
You can call us Aaron Burr
From the way we're droppin' Hamiltons

Now parked in our seats
Comic trivia's the best yo'
What Shadowline writer
Did work with Valentino?

We answered so fast
It was scary!
Everyone stared in awe
While we screamed

-SCOTT WHERLE!

Now go in the convention
Or it's gonna get tragic
We're about to get taken
To a dream world of magic!

5 Page RoR Story: "The Visage of Gunnarr"

Awhile back, the Runes of Ragnan team produced a 5 page story for Lo-Fi magazine. For the first time, we are offering it online!

It chronicles the gruesome origins of Gunnarr's skull helm.

(click thumbs to view full size pages)

Enjoy! Let us know what ya think.

...and if you like what you see, PLEASE talk to your local retailer about Runes of Ragnan. We have a lot of stories to tell and we need increased interest if we are going to be able to continue producing this series.

Thanks.

The Amazing Joy Buzzards #4 Out Today

The Amazing Joy Buzzards #4 is out today with Mars Needs Kittens by Crosland, a Stevo & Smoke Dog Teamup with Mahfood, & Everything Else and the Kitchen Sink by Hipp. The Comic Book that really got me back into comics was Voodoom #1 with Mahfood and Morse, and after I read that I had to go back and find out what I'd missed all those years, and get everything by them, and you'll see a tip of the hat to that story in AJB #4.

HECTOR PLASM now in Previews

Hey, guys, it's me, your childhood friend Benito Cereno. You may remember me from such comics as Those Backup Stories that Were in Invincible Sometimes, Tales from the Bully Pulpit, and from that time I took your sister to the prom and treated her like a real gentleman.

I've got a new book coming out in March with Nate Bellegarde (you might remember him--he took your cousin to homecoming, but that fiasco at the IHOP afterwards was totally not his fault) and Jacob Baake (you don't remember him).

It's called HECTOR PLASM: DE MORTUIS, and it looks something like this:

But that's just the cover by Cory Walker and Alex Stodolnik.

To have a look at some interiors, you should check out this five page preview at Newsarama.

http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=70d9a8d0646943153c24a3364325183b&threadid=52610

It's a five page story called "The Haint," which opens the book.

"De mortuis" means "about the dead," and that's what we're here to tell you all about. If you like what you see, please tell your local comics retailer that you'd like a copy. Heck, to make it even easier for you, here's the ordering code:

JAN06 1786 HECTOR PLASM DE MORTUIS ONE SHOT

We love you all so, so much.

Hugs,
Benito
