SUPERHEROES INVADE THE SUBURBS IN IMAGE COMICS' NEW ONGOING, JERSEY GODS!
Glen Brunswick & Dan McDaid begin their long-awaited superhero epic this February!
This February, after over a year in the making, Image Comics will debut JERSEY GODS, the superhero epic by THE GRAY AREA writer Glen Brunswick and DOCTOR WHO artist Dan McDaid.
"JERSEY GODS represents a lifetime spent dreaming of superheroes," said Brunswick. "Ever since I was young, the seeds of what would become JERSEY GODS were kicking around. JERSEY GODS is to me what SAVAGE DRAGON is for Erik Larsen or INVINCIBLE is for Robert Kirkman - it's the superhero series I want to tell without an end; one I hope will keep readers coming back for years and years to come. Working with an artist as talented and versatile as Dan makes this a real dream come true."
As originally previewed in Robert Kirkman's INVINCIBLE, JERSEY GODS stars Barock, a superhero from another planet, and Zoe, a high maintenance Jersey girl, soon after they're married. However, it's only a matter of time before Barock's previous life threatens to tear their world apart. Each issue of JERSEY GODS features covers by some of comics hottest names, including MADMAN ATOMIC COMICS's Mike Allred, DC: NEW FRONTIER's Darwyn Cooke, HEAVY LIQUID's Paul Pope and SAVAGE DRAGON's Erik Larsen with many more to come. A limited-edition variant by McDaid is also available.
JERSEY GODS #1 (DEC082237), a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be available February 4th, 2008. For more information, please see http://www.jerseygods.blogspot.com/

This February, the world's most popular monster hunter confronts the past he fought so hard to forget in Image Comics Shadowline's JOHNNY MONSTER!

IMAGE COMICS AND MYSPACE FREE MCFARLANE'S SPAWN RELAUNCH!
Image Comics and MySpace release Todd McFarlane and Whilce Portacio's Spawn #185 for free online as #186 sells out!
Image Comics and MySpace have teamed up to release Todd McFarlane and Whilce Portacio's SPAWN relaunch as the second issue sells out at a distribution-level!
“Todd McFarlane Productions is excited to be partnering with Myspace Comics to bring the fans Spawn #185," McFarlane said. "Myspace Comics is the wave of the new generation. Many fans have turned to this form of modern communication. I hope you enjoy looking at a medium that is challenging how things have been traditionally done.”
SPAWN #185 shocked comics fandom with its series-altering death of Al Simmons, lead of the series since its debut in 1992, and the mysterious awakening of the long comatose Patient 47. While limited copies may be available through your local comic book store a new printing will soon be available.

KELLY YATES' AMBER ATOMS LANDS AT IMAGE THIS FEBRUARY!
Illustrator Kelly Yates brings his sci-fi vision to Image!
This February, after exploring the worlds of TELLOS, DOCTOR WHO, GREEN ARROW and JLA/JSA, artist Kelly Yates kicks off his very own ongoing sci-fi adventure series, AMBER ATOMS!
"AMBER ATOMS comes from a deep rooted love of space faring sci-fi adventures, like STAR WARS and its own inspiration, the 1930s Flash Gordon serials," said Yates. "Each issue fires off at as fast a clip as possible, with cliffhangers at every turn while still maintaining my favorite part of the book - Amber herself. A good sci-fi story is held together by the human perspective and Amber's certainly the series' heart."
AMBER ATOMS' life on planet Madisomme is far from the exciting one she always dreamed of. Yet when mercenaries and aliens suddenly invade Amber’s home she quickly learns her dreams may give her more than she bargained for, especially when a family secret could doom an entire galaxy. Yates' unique take on the sci-fi world has already caught the attention of many of the industry's own, including SAVAGE DRAGON creator and Image Founder Erik Larsen.
Larsen commented, "AMBER ATOMS represents an artist finally pursuing his passions after a long time spent in other people's sandboxes. I couldn't be more impressed by what Kelly's accomplishing here and look forward to reading AMBER ATOMS for years to come."
AMBER ATOMS #1, a 32-page full color comic book for $3.50, will be in stores February 18th.

IMAGE COMICS' LIBERTY COMICS RAISES NEARLY $27,000 FOR THE COMIC BOOK LEGAL DEFENSE FUND!
LIBERTY COMICS anthology raises nearly $27,000 for The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund!
This past summer, Comic Book Legal Defense Fund Corporate Member Image Comics teamed up with an all-star roster of talent for LIBERTY COMICS, a special anthology benefiting the Fund, and raised nearly $27,000 for the organization's important work!
"The CBLDF couldn't defend our field's First Amendment rights if it weren't for the efforts of our supporters, and LIBERTY COMICS is an incredible example of that principle in action," CBLDF Executive Director Charles Brownstein said. "The Fund is a team effort that only exists because of the efforts of the whole industry -- from publishers and creators to retailers and fans. With this project, members of each of those communities stepped up to speak up with one voice in support of the Fund's work., and we're tremendously grateful for their efforts. "
The now sold-out anthology, conceived by editor Scott Dunbier, included a star-studded line-up of contributors and characters from across the industry including: HELLBOY by Mike Mignola, DANGER GIRL by J. Scott Campbell, THE BOYS by Garth Ennis & Darick Robertson, CRIMINAL by Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips, and original shorts by Mark Millar, Darwyn Cooke, John Paul Leon, Art Adams, Rick Veitch, Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier. All creators donated their work, with Image and Diamond Comic Distributors donating all of their proceeds from the sold out anthology to raise a grand total of $26,967.56.
The donation is part of Image Comics' continual support for the CBLDF in addition to their regular donations as a Corporate Member, the San Diego Comic Con fundraiser they co-host every year and the many efforts the publisher puts out to protect the freedoms of retailer and creator alike. This December readers will have a second chance to support the Fund as a second printing, featuring an all-new Thor cover by acclaimed series artist Walter Simonson, will hit stands.
Image Comics Publisher Eric Stephenson added, "We couldn't be more proud to support the CBLDF and their never-ending battle to defend our medium's first amendment rights. Considering Image's place in the industry as a bastion of independent, creator-owned comics, we feel they're one of the most important institutions in the industry and look to support them at every chance we get."
LIBERTY COMICS #1 2nd. ptg (OCT082259), a 32-page full color comic book for $3.99, will be available in stores December 3rd, 2008.

This January Image Comics' Shadowline invites you to HEATHENTOWN, a town with a horror lurking where you least expect it, courtesy of artist Gabriel Hardman and writer Corinna Sara Bechko.

In an attempt to discover the truth, she digs up her lover's coffin, starting a chain reaction which brings an ancient malevolence into the town... bent on her destruction!
Hardman added, "Atmosphere is everything. With Heathentown I set out to combine classic and modern visual styles to produce a look both fresh and timeless.
