A ROBOT STATE OF MIND
Image Anthology 24seven Returns with All-Star Line-Up!
Released last year to critical acclaim, 24SEVEN explores a New York City populated solely by robots. The popular anthology returns this August with all-new stories by a veritable Who's Who of comics' best and brightest.
"The bar is incredibly high after the success of the first volume," says editor Ivan Brandon. "I didn't want to do another unless it was going to be just as amazing as the first. The creators, on the other hand, have gone out of their way to surpass their predecessors in volume one. Robot fans everywhere – this one's for you."
Following in the tradition of the acclaimed hit 24SEVEN, Vol. 1, the second volume's stories run a cross-genre gamut. From crime to horror to romance to action-adventure, 24SEVEN has it all.
24SEVEN, Vol. 2 features work by Ashley Wood, Gene Ha, Adam Hughes, Dave Johnson, Michael Avon Oeming, Ben Templesmith and Gabriel Ba, among dozens of other exceptional talents from comics, film and video games.
24SEVEN, Vol. 2 hits stores August 1st. It is 200 pages of full-color robot awesomeness, with a cover price of $19.99. It is available for order through Diamond Previews (JUN071889)

SHADOWLINE HEADS FOR THE DARK SIDE
A Triumphant Debut "In Her Darkest Hour "
Lisa, a young girl on her own for the first time, hovers on the brink of suicide. Her friends and family have abandoned her, and when she cries out for help, death is the first to answer the call. Now, living alone in an unfamiliar town at the peak of her youth, she's ready to give up everything. Can her newfound friend Joshua bring her back in time? SHADOWLINE proudly presents Fernanda Chiella's gripping debut, IN HER DARKEST HOUR.
Written and illustrated by 21-year-old Brazillian newcomer Fernanda Chiella, IN HER DARKEST HOUR stakes a claim on the emotional landscape of loneliness and doubt that everyone has wrestled with at their lowest ebb. With a mix of artistic virtuosity and an empathy for human frailty, Chiella creates a narrative that will appeal to anyone who has seen the dark side of life and come back to tell the tale.
"Fernanda delves into the darkest reaches of human emotions, and puts them on the page with an eloquence and visual polish well beyond her years," says Shadowline chief Jim Valentino. "IN HER DARKEST HOUR immediately impressed me with its honesty and gut wrenching power -- it's one of the finest debuts I've ever seen."
IN HER DARKEST HOUR is a 28-page one-shot with no ads, available in the June issue of Diamond Previews for products shipping in August. DIAMOND ORDER CODE: JUN071881

This summer is cloaked in SORROW!
Not all that is buried is dead...
his August, Image Comics and Rick Remender bring horror fans a modern take on the classic ghost story in SORROW. This four issue mini-series masterfully blends all the terror of The Exorcist with the eerie psychosis of David Lynch's Twin Peaks.
"I've been fascinated with the idea of possession since childhood," says Remender "There is nothing more terrifying than the idea of dark, disembodied spirits creeping in and taking us over. Co-writer Seth Peck and I wrote this with the idea that gore is the least interesting aspect of Horror stories-- true horror is psychological, not simply bloody."
In 1952, the U.S. Government’s nuclear testing killed all of the good people of Sorrow, Nevada. Today, the sign in front of town reads “population zero”. The locals, however, will tell you a very different story... When a car accident strands a group of four young travelers in this desolate ghost town, they soon find that not all that is buried is dead.
The creative team of SORROW consists of fan favorite comics industry veteran Remender (STRANGE GIRL, FEAR AGENT) along with co-writer Seth Peck and Italian superstar artist Francesco Francavilla (Black Coat, Fear Agent) with covers by Kieron Dwyer (Remains, Sea of Red).
"When Rick approached me to work on the book with him I was flattered,” Says Peck “Beyond being a friend, I'm also a fan of his work, and I loved the concept behind "Sorrow". Hopefully we can deliver something that fans can enjoy and find genuinely creepy. Before we started, Rick and I spent a lot of time talking about what sort of elements we wanted in the book, and what sort of things would give readers a legitimate scare. I think we've succeeded, and Francesco really brought all that to life in his artwork."
SORROW is a black and white four issue miniseries with a cover price of $2.99. Issue number one goes on sale August first. It will be available for order through the June issue of Diamond Previews.

Missing Madeleine!
We received notice of this from our friend Mark Millar. Here's the terrible story from Mark:
I don't know how big a story this has been in the States, but the abduction of British toddler Madeline McCann from her bedroom two weeks ago has been very upsetting for everyone here. She was snatched by what police believe was an organized ring when she was on holiday with her parents in Portugal and so far leads have been minimal.
There's an enormous effort here in the UK to keep this hunt going and a $5 million dollar reward has already been promised, a separate fighting fund established to help both she and other kids in the same situation. It was hammered home to me when I realized her Dad was trained beside a couple of my friends and one pal whom I had a drink with last night was saying her Uncle wanted everyone to help whatever way they can. Even the smallest effort potentially helps and so we changed the Millarworld front page as follows...
www.millarworld.tv
Also, I really wanted to get the offical missing poster as a download for all the retailers in Europe, Ireland and the UK. If your comic store DOESN'T have this up please ask them to put it in their front window today. Print it off and hand a copy over if they don't have one already. Retailers, please show your support by taking a snapshot of the pic in your window and post it here in the thread below. Also, spread this appeal around as many websites as you can. There's literally hundreds of stores across the continent and every little helps.

HOP ON BOARD THE PANDA EXPRESS!
Shadowline offers its first all-ages graphic novel!
Following in the footsteps of LIONS, TIGERS AND BEARS, LEAVE IT TO CHANCE and other graphic novels enjoyed by both children and adults comes Shadowline’s latest offering; PX! BOOK ONE: A GIRL AND HER PANDA.
This full color, 168-page landscape format graphic novel tells the story of Dahlia, a young girl who, with the help of her Giant Panda sidekick, sets off on an epic journey around the globe to rescue her missing father.
Shadowline President Jim Valentino beams, “In a market where there are still far too few graphic novels the whole family can enjoy, we believe this charming and beautifully illustrated tale will soon become a classic.”
Created by Manny Trembley and Eric A. Anderson, the creative team behind the sold out SAM NOIR series, PX! BOOK ONE: A GIRL AND HER PANDA originally appeared as a Webcomic at www.pandaxpress.com.
Valentino notes, “This story is about as far removed from Sam Noir as one can get, while retaining Trembley and Anderson’s trademark humor and graphic excellence.”
PX! BOOK ONE: A GIRL AND HER PANDA is a 168-page landscape full-color graphic novel with a suggested retail price of $16.99 and goes on sale August 1, 2007. ISBN:978-1-58240-820-0 Diamond Order Code #MAR078287
