GIRL WORTH DYING FOR!

The mafia's secret weapon is unveiled this August!

This August Entertainment Weekly's Must Artist Frank Espinosa and Glen Brunswick, the screenwriter behind the upcoming film adaptation of EX MACHINA, return to comics with a full color, five-issue miniseries which tells the tale of the mafia's secret service and the woman capable of taking it down from within: KILLING GIRL.

"The series focuses on Sara," explains Brunswick. "She's been the mafia's killing machine for years, but someone from her forgotten past puts her on the road to regain her lost humanity. "

Those familiar with Espinosa's previous all ages work on the critically acclaimed ROCKETO may be shocked by what he pulls off within these pages. Even his art style evolves with the content combining his typical line with such revered crime arts as Dick Tracy's Chester Gould.

"Everyone at Image is very excited by what's next from Glen and Frank," stated Eric Stephenson, Executive Director of Image Comics. "This miniseries is unlike either creator's previous work, and it's bound to startle an awful lot of fans in the best of ways."

You can find out more on KILLING GIRL #1 (JUN071882) at http://killinggirl.blogspot.com until the series begins August 8th with a cover price of $2.99

THE BOY FROM EARTH!

Robert Kirkman's classic sci-fi series finally collected!

This August Robert Kirkman's lost science fiction classic, TECH JACKET, returns in a collection reprinting the entire first series in color for the very first time.

Many fans associate Robert Kirkman with his hit superhero series INVINCIBLE, but he first made readers take notice with a six-issue miniseries involving a boy and his battle armor: TECH JACKET. Zack Thompson was an ordinary teenager until his family was thrust into the center of an alien civil war. When things looked at their worst Zack was fused against his will with a battle vest capable of granting him infinite power.

"TECH JACKET has always been a big favorite of mine," Kirkman says. "Zack's not like a typical comic book teenager. He's far from a big dork or a wealthy heir. His family is working class - just like most people out there. In fact, he's probably the creation of mine I relate to the most."

While TECH JACKET was available as a color collection overseas, this marks the first time North American fans will be so lucky. Besides that, Kirkman is jam packing the collection with exclusive sketches and a personally written introduction.

TECH JACKET, VOL. 1: THE BOY FROM EARTH (JUN07 1906), a 144-page trade paperback with a cover price of $14.99, is available for order now in the August issue of Previews and will go on sale August 15.

Issues #1 and #2 return to press!

BERKELEY, CA – June 26, 2007 -- FRANK FRAZETTA'S DEATH DEALER #2 has sold out at the exact same time as the second printing of #1. Following the adventures of Frazetta's axe-weilding embodiment of destruction, FRANK FRAZETTA'S DEATH DEALER has now officially sold out of it's first two issues.

"When we sold out of #1 we were sure that we printed enough to fill the surging demand. We were wrong. Blissfully wrong" says writer Joshua Ortega. "Well, we're going back to press again. If folks want more copies, we'll give 'em more. The second printing of number two and the third printing of number one will feature a shiny silver treatment. We love the metallic ink. It differentiates the print runs. It's shiny and functional."

FRANK FRAZETTA'S DEATH DEALER is getting new fans everyday and we haven't even gotten to the most exciting stuff yet! Just wait until folks read the origin of Death Dealer in issue 4! FRANK FRAZETTA'S DEATH DEALER is a dark fantasy epic that tells the story behind Frazetta's iconic painting.

INVESTIGATING THE STRANGE CASES!

INVESTIGATING THE STRANGE CASES
Steve Niles' new horror title ships this August!

This August the creator behind modern horror classic 30 Days of Night, Steve Niles, taps into our deepest fears with the multi-media experience STRANGE CASES.

Conceived by Niles, this four-issue miniseries focuses on a disparate group of men and women who hunt what frightens humanity most as they're drawn to Holcomb Manor, a legendary nexus for all things supernatural. Immediately upon arrival our starring slayers are given an offer they may not live long enough to refuse. Along the way, established horror icons – Val Helsing, Kolchak and Cal MacDonald among them – are twisted in ways even the most dedicated reader would never see coming.

The STRANGE CASES franchise is first brought to the comic book world by well-known horror aficionados writer Dan Wickline and artist David Hartman. Dan made his splash on the comic book world by scripting the 30 Days series, Spreading the Disease, while David scared the world over with his haunting visuals for Rob Zombie's American Witch video.

As mentioned, this property is not limited to the printed page as the people responsible for bringing the decade-long killer app Madden NFL to EA Games, D2C, who are on board to bring the concepts to life digitally.

"This title marks D2C Games first foray into graphic novels," said Scott Orr, President & CEO of D2C Games. "Steve and Dan have done a fantastic job of creating a hot new franchise that will also appear as a digital video comic as well as console and handheld games in the future."

The cross-media nature of STRANGE CASES is something Steve Niles has wanted to do for some time.

"This is something we couldn’t do 10 or 15 years ago," explains Niles. "With the increased popularity in long running shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the monster hunter has taken a place of prominence."

STEVE NILES' STRANGE CASES, a full color series, debuts at comic book shops everywhere August 1st for $2.99.

PARADE (WITH FIREWORKS) DEBUTS THIS SEPTEMBER!

Historical Epic Coming From Shadowline!

This coming September Image Comics' Shadowline unveils the first in a two-part miniseries with ACT-I-VATE studio cartoonist Michael Cavallaro, PARADE (WITH FIREWORKS). In the tradition of historical epics such as Eric Shanower’s AGE OF BRONZE and Marjane Satrapi's PERSEPOLIS, PARADE focuses on the personal side of an Italy torn apart after the first World War.

“This riveting new talent was brought to my attention by Shadowline editor, Kris Simon,” Shadowline President Jim Valentino explained. “Not only is a Michael a brilliant cartoonist, but he’s producing work truly unlike no other in the industry. The mix of art styles he brings to the work certainly has influences from throughout the history of the medium, but they're fused together with a result I don’t believe people have quite seen before.”

The beauty Michael Cavallaro’s approach is not just in the linework, but the story itself, which is rooted in deep personal ties dating back through generations of Michael’s family.

Callavaro explains: “These are tales that I grew up hearing from my relatives. The basis of the comic spans decades of my family’s history on their journeys from an Italian countryside lost between two World Wars, to the coalmines of the American south and the factories of the northeast. Parade is the beginning of these stories.”

The full-color PARADE (WITH FIREWORKS) #1 of 2, priced at $3.50, goes on sale September 12th.

PUNCH THE CLOCK!

CAPES IS COMING!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PUNCH THE CLOCK!
Kirkman’s superhero line explodes again this July!

BERKELEY, CA -- 22 May, 2007 -- This July, Robert Kirkman’s CAPES VOLUME ONE: PUNCHING THE CLOCK TPB hits stands to prove that his passion for superheroics just can’t be stopped.

“While I’ve got my own personal sandbox of super-toys in Invincible, I ended up creating too many to fit in the box,” Kirkman explained. “The page of CAPES includes its own mammoth cast with their own personal dramas that deserved their own spotlight as opposed to the background of someone else’s book. I love this genre too much to limit it to just one title!”

CAPES tells the story of a business that employs super-powered
individuals to protect the city of New York and occasionally, the
world. They’re all on the payroll superheroes that punch a time clock,
take lunch breaks and get overtime. Unfortunately for them, their work routine
comes crashing down when a betrayal from within threatens to unwind their
entire operation. All this is visually conveyed through the bombastic pencils and inks of series artist Mark Englert.

CAPES, VOLUME ONE: PUNCHING THE CLOCK is a 144-page full-color
trade paperback with a cover price of $14.99 and goes on sale July
11, 2007. It is available for order from Diamond Comic Distributors
(MAY071860).

CHAOS IT IS, WE'LL NEED COFFEE

Mark Haven Britt's Revenge-Fueled OGN Debuts in July

We've all had bosses that we've hated. What if you just told your boss EXACTLY what you thought? Xeric Award-winning Mark Haven Britt's new whirlwind graphic novel FULL COLOR answers that question. The 176-page black and white revenge-fueled morality tale goes on sale this July 18th.

And yes, it is a black and white book entitled FULL COLOR.

This graphic novel tells the story of Boom, a young woman who is pushed to the brink of madness. Boom decides she's going to get her whole life in order in one day or she's going to kill herself. The same day she decides to go after her boss, she comes home to find an old friend standing on her fire escape. David's double-crossed a drug dealer and he's looking for help. Boom tells him, "I can't. I've given myself one day to make it all right or I'm just going to kill myself. What do you think of that?" David smiles, "Chaos it is, then. We'll need coffee."

The story is an odyssey through New York City featuring dog fights, hot tubs, rainy alleyways and even a breakfast with Bill Clinton.

"This book is a hybrid of everything I love about comics: pulpy action, kinetic visuals and humor. While this book has no shortage of morbidity, I swear it's funny!" says Britt. "I wrote this at a time when I had a job I loathed and New York had just exploded. This was just something I had to write. This book has been my life for the past five years and I have poured my heart into it. I think you can see that in the pages."

FULL COLOR is a 176-page black and white graphic novel with a cover price of $15.99 and goes on sale July 11, 2007. ISBN: 978-1582408408 It is availible for order through Diamond Previews (MAY071852)
